As I mentioned...this entire idea of Friendship Month came about as a result of something I had to do for an english class at school. They no longer have essays with 200 - 300 word requirements like we did.
Now, it's called "expansion on an idea" and they have to use a proverb, explain the idea and then give an example to expand on the idea...
I dunno how we would've felt about the current english composition syllabus if we had it when we were in school but though they've increased the components, I think they've made it pretty interesting.
O asked me whether I would be airing my thoughts on Friendship. Well, I've already done so once...here.
Also, like I mentioned previously, I will give a summation of my thoughts at the end of the month.
I decided to cheat a little though. Perhaps I will have comments every week...and have an ongoing evaluation...plus a "rebuttal" in the end...
Let's see how it works out.
For now...I've been tremendously pleased with the response and the various different views...and it's funny...but even though every person seems to have differing views...I can't seem to disagree with anyone in particular...everyone makes very very pertinent points. It's funny that some people would choose to reflect on something in particular, while I agree with all.
Or maybe it's just some sort of bias since this is coming from my friends and I'm just enjoying it so much.
Be that as it may, I think I will probably give a list of the ideas I agree with most...at the end of the entire exercise.
For now...I'm sharing one of the things I created for my class session for std. X

Someone once said, “Books and Friends should be few but good.” This saying seems to reflect quality over quantity. The kind of friends one has is more important than how many. While I disagree about the part about few books – one can never have enough of those, I do agree about the quality of friends.
One can have many “fair weather” friends who stick with you when the going is good. However, when the going gets tough, only the true friends stand by your side and help you through their support. These will be very few as “in prosperity, our friends know us; in adversity, we know our friends.”
