Doctors are funny creatures...

I just got back from a visit to the dentist's...
With my impending departure from here, it was time to see whether all was working at it should.

The dentist decided that I need a bridge between two of my teeth.
I lost a new tooth (not a milk one) and I don't know how but well...there it is and now there's a gap. As such, my teeth started moving about a bit...
So..rather than let them get totally out of hand and cause problems later, the dentist decided on a bridge...

So today I went to go get the bridge length measured and in the process, the dentist shaved off part of my tooth, in preparation for putting in the implant.

It was uncomfortable.
I do have a high tolerance for pain and I did not complain.
However, my body did and I was sweating.
The doctor asked me WHY I was sweating.

Um...teeth were never really meant to be shaved off, were they?
High pain thresholds are all well and good but bodies are not stupid. They complain. Mine did.

I get the same sort of sweats when I go to get a shot.
I don't consciously mind the needle. It doesn't even really prick but...I'm sweating buckets...

I wonder how many dentists got their own teeth shaved. Then they'd know why I was sweating...

Well, for the pleasure of your perusal, I have included a snap of my newly flattened tooth - there's nothing to compare the shot with but once I get the cap done, there should be some difference...

Maybe I should start a fashion fad of flattened teeth...

In other news, I just saw something extremely stupid on the way back from the dentist's.

Kids do sit in various weird positions behind their parents on two wheelers here but when I rode, I remember my parents asking me to hold them around the middle, so if the grip slackened, I was falling asleep and they'd talk to me.

Some parents let their kids hold on to the spare tyres. I wonder if they ever found out if they lost a kid that way.

However, this achievement was pretty spectacular...
