Reflections on...oversleeping...

Tuesday morning...was interesting...
I have no clue how or why my alarm didn't go off. It's very likely that I forgot to set it but I got up at 8.45...that's usually when I leave the house...
My first reaction was: Oh well...forget college but then a second later, I'd decided that I could still make it if I hurried the morning routine...So I did...
I'd gotten pizza the evening before...so lunch was a simple matter. Just popped the leftover pieces into a container. Thankfully, I'd taken the time to iron my clothes the evening before. So that was good and I was out in twenty minutes.

Due to my lateness, I become part of the multitude of stupid drivers (unfortunately) for a small amount of time.
There's a new signal installed near at a junction near my house and it does more harm than good...at least the way it is configured right now. People wanting to turn on to the main road and those turning off it have to wait an interminable time before they can do so. Given that I was late...I plunged into the chaos and it was not a good idea. I earned some imprecations from a few drivers and hurried along.

Hurrying along as I did...there suddenly materialised in front of me, a very deep pot hole. In their infinite wisdom, the municipal authorities have decided that certain roads with pot hole troubles will be re asphalted - without scraping off the old layer. So...we have layered roads but then the manholes in the original roads, remain at the original levels. Heaven forbid something be done about them...so yes...I was flying through one of those and it's a good thing I was flying...for had I been slower, I would've broken something...that hole was so deep, you could've tossed a salad in it...

Carrying on with this adventure, I got a message on my phone. I'd sent a text forward asking a friend to tell the teacher that I would be late. The teacher was the point of the whole charade. A - she's a good teacher and is teaching a slightly challenging topic so I didn't want to miss the class. B - I'd called her the previous evening to confirm that she would be taking class...so missing it would've been churlish...
The message said my friend was late herself. Great...

As I motored along, I came across another traffic signal. This one was not functioning and that's a good thing because that's one those signals that does less good than bad...sure...that junction gets stopped up at times but those occasions are rare...or...were rare when there was no light there...people managed...somehow.
Now that there's a traffic light, there's a block practically every day. Whee...go figure.

Oh well, finally I got in, about ten minutes late...to see that the teacher was still starting.
She let me in and mentioned that I was an unlucky fellow...I thought she'd be shouting at me...so I just told her I overslept. She said, that's not the issue...we have a surprise test. I said, well...I'll just write what I can.
I think the others must've been groaning about the test because I got a positive stroke from the teacher...she told the class that they should all have my attitude. Whee! And finally, she even liked a couple of my answers...yay!

Somehow...this sounded much more fun as I was composing it while I was driving to school that day.
What is the morale of the story?

Always make sure your alarms are set.
Rush if you must but don't drive off into oblivion.
See if you don't need to rush in the first place.
So...get up on time.
Thus, make sure your alarms are set.
Oh, and ironing clothes the night before is a good habit.
Plus, other than being delicious, cold pizza is terribly convenient.

Wheee~
